While we’re waiting for new information for Fire Emblem if, here’s something cool you can check out:


A talented fan by the name of Kokusho has created a 3D model of the blue-haired dancer girl, inspired by the recent cutscene style, which they’ve kindly shared in this forum topic.

You can check out the model in all its glory here; you can swing the camera around to make sure it’s actually 3D and not a still picture (and, like me, accidentally and–rather awkwardly–end up looking at the model from below…).

Intelligent systems zou mij geen interessante titel lijken aan gezien velen (waaronder ik in dit geval) niet altijd naar de uitgever kijkt of weet. Maar toen ik fire emblem zag wou ik meteen een kijkje nemen


Linguist heb jij Fire Emblem wel eens op de snes gespeeld? Kan je het aanraden?

Je bent inderdaad flink wat geld kwijt voor die twee als je pech hebt. Path of Radiance speel ik op dit moment en het is zeker een aanrader. Of het het beste deel is durf ik niet te zeggen.

De demo liet best aardig wat gameplay zien vind ik. Heeft me twee avondjes gekost om de demo uit te spelen. Ik zou zeggen dat de game niet geschikt voor iedereen is, maar mij heeft het zeker weten te bekoren. Denk je dat het dag-één-materiaal wordt ? Daar ben ik zelf echter nog niet zo zeker van.

Nintendo and Intelligent Systems has announced a two-day concert celebrating the 25th anniversary of Fire Emblem on their official site.

Known as “The 25th Anniversary of Love and Courage: Fire Emblem Festival”, the event will take place on 24th and 25th July 2015 at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. At the moment, no further details are known, except that it is being run by Intelligent Systems.

At the moment, there is a countdown on the site, which is set to expire at the beginning of 13th March 2015. At which point presumably some new information will be revealed.

Robin comes as the representative of the newest Fire Emblem release, Fire Emblem Awakening. As the only Fire Emblem lead character without a legendary item to his name, and the ability to use weapons and a variety of magic he was the perfect candidate to show off the breakable weapons system from his home franchise.


His default design and name comes from the default design in Awakening.


Smash 4 gives all characters 8 swaps for 8-Player Smash. As Robin is a customizable character, the hair colors and gender swap are all options in his home game. The four colors also represent Other, Enemy, Player, and Partner Units, along with a light colored swap to contrast the default black. But Robin’s representation can go even further than that.


The second swap comes from the default female Robin design in Awakening.


Throughout Fire Emblem, several characters have had green hair, and green, yellow and beige clothing. Among them are some prominent examples above. Abel (top left) is the first character to sport the color scheme and define the green knight archetype in the original Fire Emblem (1990) and it’s remake Shadow Dragon (200. Special mention should also go to the Tactician from Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword (centered.) Mark the Tactician is one of the two templates Robin’s character was based on. While he doesn’t have green hair, his sprite is always shown as green and yellow despite being on the Player’s side.


Red Robin is similarly based on the many characters that are red knight counterparts to the green knights above. The first of which was Cain (bottom left) the counterpart of Abel. Another archetype was defined by Minerva (top left) of female dragon riders that sport a similar color scheme (1990/200. Some mages have worn these colors as well like Sonia (bottom right, 1992). Anna (far right) the series mascot and recurring character has a similar appearance. She was first playable in Fire Emblem Awakening (2012) but first appeared in the original game (1990).


It’s possible that the decision to make male green and female red is a nod to the most recent incarnations of the Red and Green Knights archetype in Fire Emblem Awakening. However neither wear any yellow.


Many characters in Fire Emblem have blue hair and blue and yellow clothes, most notably the majority of the main Lords. However the light blue underclothes (as opposed to beige and white in his other swaps)and lack of any red (like the Lords) points to Robin’s second inspiration. Chris, the customizable character in New Mystery and prototype of Robin, sported this same color default.


Again, several characters through Fire Emblem have been blonde with yellow and brown clothes. The first prominent one was Briggid (Genealogy of the Holy War, 1996). Lissa is another main character from Awakening (Lucina shares this swap as well). And even Chrom’s NPC wife if the player doesn’t choose to pair him up with another cast member looks somewhat similar.


White Robin greatly resembles the White Mage class from Final Fantasy. Also as an inverse of his default swap he accents the white robe with black hair.


Pink Robin again could be inspired by any number of pink haired characters with pinkish purple clothes. Jeni from Fire Emblem Gaiden (1992) did it first. the generic dancers from the SNES titles sported a similar scheme. Finally Serra’s sprite in the GBA games has this scheme at both tier 1 and tier 2. However in her official artwork her dress is a bluish white, not pinkish purple.

So the whole history of Fire Emblem is rolled into this one character, both in moveset and in the generic origins of most of the palette swaps.
